Head Of E-Commerce - Johannesburg

Our client seeks a dynamic and consumer-focused Head of e-Commerce with a proven track record in growing omnichannel brands. The ideal candidate should possess robust sales and marketing expertise, thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment, and demonstrate success in high engagement consumer experience brands. Reporting directly to the Marketing Executive, the Head of e-Commerce will take ownership of digital strategies, sales revenue, and profitability for the e-Commerce segment. This role involves collaborating cross-functionally and working closely with the international team to drive digital transformation, ensuring consistent brand representation across digital platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing the online customer experience and implementing commercial strategies to achieve business objectives, overseeing a direct report.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and provision the operational, promotional, and marketing functions within the eCommerce business.

  • Create, develop, and coordinate an online marketing plan to drive the overall net sales objective, brand site database and site traffic increases.

  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives in collaboration with our client's agency.

  • Ensure that the digital marketing informs and supports the development of all brand-building, promotional, and campaign activities with the Digital Lead.

  • Develop and implement SOPs across the digital team.

  • Management of digital marketing services team and service providers to optimise the user experience.

  • Ensure that the forecast budget and profit number are achieved.

  • Manage e-Commerce projects and budgets.

  • Manage and develop cross-functional department and matrix staff, providing for coaching and development opportunities as appropriate and as it pertains to online e-Commerce.

  • Manage workflows and look for process efficiencies.

  • Accountable for the set up and drive 3Pi websites as per global strategy.

  • Responsible for e-Commerce revenue.

  • Create strategies and initiatives around driving traffic to site, and increasing conversion rates and average order size.

  • Achieve e-commerce targets and ROI.

  • Maximise site performance and enhance the consumer online shopping experience by leading the planning, scheduling, deployment, execution, and maintenance of all site content.

  • Ensure consistent branding, image and content delivery across the website and maintain accuracy of product descriptions and pricing.

  • Manage and introduce payment methods so suit the needs of customers.

  • Develop, maintain and communicate site update schedules and processes.

  • Coordinate site launches &/or traffic-driving events with appropriate partners.

  • Follow-up with affiliates on revenue estimate vs targets and initiate mitigation plan when required.

  • Manage e-Commerce vendors including logistics partners, packaging and service suppliers.

  • Website management.

  • Effectively manage the company website to ensure it is current, functional, optimised, up-todate and represents our client's brand effectively serving the interest of the business across all channels.

  • Work with the team on content management, functionality development, performance optimisation, SEO and content enrichment.

  • Accountable for 3Pi site content supply, checking and reporting.

  • The Ecommerce Lead will be accountable for Digital Marketing & Performance, run by the Digital Lead which entails the below Digital Media and Email Marketing:

  • Digital Media.

  • Oversee digital media to ensure our client's brand is reaching their target market across digital platforms with the most efficient targeting, at an optimum CPM & ROAS.

  • Drive acquisition and retention improvements.

  • Work in partnership with Marketing Content team on all digital marketing efforts: electronic direct mail, banner ads, PPC, SEO, and Social Media.

  • Ensure our client's website traffic is growing and converting with an optimum CPC and conversion rate.

  • Ensure existing and potential customers are engaging at a maximum with our client's online content.

  • Participate in testing of product, content, campaign, and promotion updates to the website.

  • Manage the timely deployment of all e-marketing and merchandising campaign content on the website.

  • Campaign planning.

  • Google & Facebook Ad platform management.

  • Performance optimisation.

  • Google my business maintenance.

  • Brief and manage assets for various platforms.

  • Email Marketing.

  • Drive positive ROI e-commerce conversion using email.

  • Drive brand awareness and store locator traffic for product innovation launches and consumer promotions.
