Position: Head of Engineering An innovative digital financial service provider who specializes in fast, flexible loans and funeral cover policies, is looking for a Head of Engineering who will be responsible for driving the thought leadership and formulating the technology strategy for the business as part of their rapid modernization and evolution into a Fintech business. Salary: Market Related Responsibilities: Manage an Engineering team operating in a domain and stack undergoing rapid modernization and evolution Establish operational excellence focus needed to continuously deliver results through your experience in large scale, high volume transactional fintech business Form strong relations with your peers on the Exco team, setting the vision and strategy for your team Bring a technical mindset to the table, incorporating advances in technology into our products and solutions Actively participating in our strategic forums and activities Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field; Master’s degree in information technology or a technology-related discipline preferred Proven experience as a Head of Engineering or similar leadership role within a fast paced FinTech environment Minimum of 8 - 10 years’ experience in a software development role, information technology role, or related field Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing Software Developers and multiple disciplines within a team Strong technical background, as evidenced by multiple engineering leadership roles You thrive when developing great people, not just great products Experience in establishing a healthy engineering culture by earning trust and respect of your team You have been instrumental to successful projects delivery by utilizing agile, continuous improvement and continuous delivery You get excited about discussions on micro services, containers, AWS, Continuous integration, etc You get your hands dirty, entrepreneurial by nature and performance and results driven Experience in the following would be a great advantage; AWS Services (EKS, Redshift, S3, etc), .Net Core, Containers, Javascript and Angular Effective at implementing and operating SCRUM and Agile methodologies across the development teams Whats of offer: • Flexible benefits to structure your own package • Creative agile work environment • Flexible working hours • Café and lounge area • Staff restaurant with a variety of healthy meal options Email your detailed CV to: Email your CV to lameezodwyerpersonnel.co.za or visit our website and submit your CV online at www.odwyerpersonnel.co.za/vacancies We regret that we cannot contact all applicants regarding their status.
