Head of Product Information Technology - South Africa

PURPOSE OF ROLE: Responsible for shaping the IT product portfolio's vision, strategy, and roadmap within the Groups, collaborating closely with the company's leadership to align IT products with business strategy and growth goals. This pivotal role in the group's IT division involves overseeing a team of skilled product managers and reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, contributing significantly to the organization's success. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS: Essential: Strong background in product management with a focus on restaurant guest experiences, digital, and data-led business systems. Required: Matrix interaction with business, technology development, support services, security, and architectural teams. Education: BCOM/BS Degree and above; Masters degree preferred. Experience: 10 years of leadership experience (CTO, IT Management, Product Management). Preferred: Experience in restaurant, retail, and/or eCommerce in South Africa. Knowledge: Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., SCRUM, Agile, Waterfall, Iterative). Expertise: Strong understanding of Product Management (e.g., product discovery, AB testing, usability, prototyping, analytics). Experience leading process improvement efforts. Creative problem-solving, strong negotiation, and excellent customer service. Well-organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated. Strong time management and planning skills. Adaptability. Ability to work under pressure and meet established timelines. Ability to work independently. RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead cross-functional teams, ensuring a cohesive product-led vision and timely delivery using optimal technical methods. Provide leadership and mentorship to the Product team. Establish and manage partnerships to drive product development. Coordinate various product development activities, including financing, procurement, agile development, and customer development. Define product vision and strategy aligned with the group's IT strategy. Develop and launch new products, and enhance existing ones. Resolve resource constraints and conflicts impacting multiple components within product teams. Take ownership of the user experience across all products/brands. Communicate effectively and report to stakeholders throughout the product life cycle. Proactively address risks across the product development life cycle. Apply Now
