PURPOSE OF ROLE: A key strategic partner for the Group’s restaurant leadership, overseeing the development of restaurant technology strategy, solution discovery, service management, risk management, and relationship management within the IT domain. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, this senior role plays a crucial part in bridging the gap between the brands and IT. The incumbent offers high-level consulting support and guidance during significant IT initiatives, ensuring effective communication of decisions, priorities, and pertinent technology developments to relevant staff levels. Proactively sharing insights on restaurant and technology risks and opportunities, contributes to gaining a competitive advantage for restaurant franchisees. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 10 years of leadership experience in Restaurant or Retail Operations, IT Management Extensive background in restaurant or retail IT, highly recommended Proven track record in leading process improvement initiatives Preferable experience in restaurant, retail, and/or eCommerce in South Africa In-depth understanding of technology applications such as Point of Sale, eCommerce, and Back of House Demonstrates creative problem-solving skills Strong negotiation abilities Excellent customer service orientation Highly organized and detail-oriented Effective time management and planning skills Adaptable to change with agility Ability to work independently Self-motivated, and thrive under pressure within established timelines. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and implement restaurant solution roadmaps. Collaborate with restaurant leadership and strategic vendors to enhance the future restaurant platform for franchisees. Create solution concepts and business cases for new investments. Identify, screen, and evaluate new solution opportunities to address customer needs. Partner with key staff to develop strategic business plans. Oversee solution launches for maximum positive impact. Ensure technology-driven advantages in restaurants and customer interactions. Lead and mentor the IT restaurant team. Drive data-centric business process improvements. Ensure seamless operational IT services across restaurants through SLAs and active monitoring. Conduct initial business analysis and prepare recommendations and business plans.
