A Global forwading and logistics company is looking for Head of Freight in JHB Requirements: - Extensive experience in the logistics industry, with a focus on road freight. - Strong commercial insight and comprehensive geographical knowledge. - Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities. - Proven track record of driving results and managing multifaceted operations. - Bachelor's degree in business management or a related field Qualifications: - Customer Orientation - Strategic Planning & Organization - Effective Decision Making - People Development - Team Building and Leadership - Influential Communication - Dedication to Excellence Key Responsibilities: Customer Centricity: - Foster enduring customer relationships, identifying new business prospects while ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction. - Lead strategic dialogues with key accounts, promoting collaboration and understanding of evolving needs. - Drive product and business development initiatives in accordance with regional and global standards. - Ensure regulatory compliance and establish KPIs for performance excellence. Stakeholder Engagement - Oversee our transport portal, ensuring smooth operations and nurturing carrier partnerships. - Collaborate closely with the commercial team to devise pricing strategies and maintain service quality standards. - Drive EBIT results at the country level, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and attainment of defined KPIs. Operational Efficiency: - Define and enforce operational targets, optimizing costs and enhancing production efficiencies. - Strategically manage resources and recommend IT enhancements to streamline operations. - Uphold adherence to ISO standards and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives. Leadership and Team Development: - Cultivate a high-performing team, fostering a culture of quality, service excellence, and teamwork. - Set clear performance objectives, conduct regular evaluations, and offer coaching for individual growth. - Identify training needs and cultivate succession opportunities to nurture a skilled and motivated workforce. A MUST HAVE Experience in managing and growing the Road Freight (Local and Cross Border) business activities both in Operations and Commercial aspect. Responsible and accountable for the Road Freight Product's PNL. Advanced knowledge of the Freight Forwarding Industry, extensive knowledge of Road Freight and its advanced technologies. Minimum 10 yrs. in Logistics Industry Must have worked at the position of Road freight Leader/Head for at least more than 8 years in a reputable organization. Degree in business Management or a related field Experience: Minimum of 10 years in logistics, including at least 8 years in a leadership capacity. R80 to R 100 K benefits
