ROLE SUMMARY: Reddford House Northcliff is a premium private school situated in Northcliff, Randburg. We require an enthusiastic and capable Senior Head of School who is able to create a positive learning environment and motivate students to achieve their full potential. The successful applicant will have to adopt a holistic view to students in their care, promoting the general progress and well-being of individuals and of any class or group assigned to them. This is a full-time permanent role and its due to commence term 2 2024. STRATEGIC CONTRIBUTION OF THIS POSITION Drive academic excellence at Inspired Schools. Providing quality education that enhances the Inspired brand. Providing opportunities to staff to attain their career goals. Help ensure the going concern of Inspired Schools. STAFF MANAGEMENT DUTIES Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure that the school's vision, mission, ethos and strategy development are clearly articulated and understood by members of the Inspired staff. Lead the appointment, appraisal and management of all school staff. Monitor, manage and implement the school budget and resources, curriculum, calendar and timetable, CPD programme, examinations and reporting systems. Support and guide members of staff, promoting a united staff, working for the good of the school. Ensure the marketing of the campus is effectively undertaken. Take responsibility and assist with the mentorship of all new staff members who join Inspired. Work in close collaboration with the Director in the development of the school. Play a lead role in the positive implementation of equal opportunities. Involved with the Disciplinary process when required. STUDENT MANAGEMENT DUTIES Responsible to communicate with parents at functions/ meetings/ Information Evenings around all matters. Liaise with parents, students and staff on admissions, academic programmes and discipline matters. Manage safeguarding roles, responsibilities and procedures within the campus. Ensure that student progress is effectively communicated to parents. Help to create and maintain an attractive, effective and exiting environment for learning. Promote the image of the school. Ensure that there is a culture of respect throughout the whole school. PASTORAL CARE AND DISCIPLINE Be approachable and caring to pupils, parents and colleagues Work on being an individual with high EQ Address conflicts in a professional manner ensuring that all school's policies and procedures are always upheld in the process Be proactive, honour commitments and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders. Communicate accurately to relevant stakeholders ADDITIONAL DUTIES Serve on committee structures as delegated and required by the school e.g. Employment Equity, H&S etc. Participate in all meetings and actively add value Take responsibility for personal growth and attend required courses and CPD activities Provide feedback and formally report back to school on meeting outcomes Monitor and manage assigned projects as per agreed timelines Submit project reports / assignments per deadlines and decisions WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Able to set clear expectations and stretching goals Adaptable teaching style incorporating feedback A depth of understanding in the relevant subject area Ability to judge learning effectiveness Excellent preparation and planning Assessment of student outcomes and feedback to enhance performance Genuine care and attention for the highest standards of student welfare Several years teaching and Head experience with a specific focus on IEB Strong analytical and project management skills. Confident and dynamic personality. Strong creative outlook. Proven track record of success in Head of School roles.
