Requisition Details and Talent Acquisition Contact R EQ: 132996 Talent Acquisition Contact: Lebohang Monate Advert closing date: 01/04/2024 Job Family Project, Process and Product Career Stream Product Leadership Pipeline Manage of Managers Job Purpose Driving the strategy and delivery of multiple products and services which can be leveraged across the enterprise in different value propositions and accountable to various executive stakeholders across the value chain. Inform and drive enterprise budget allocation and alignment with strategic value creation and lead role in enterprise lean portfolio management . Responsible for defining desirable, viable, feasible, and sustainable solutions that meet customer needs and supporting product development across the product life cycle. Responsible for product performance both measuring and improving. Manage a range of complex products and guide each solution through the four stages of the product life cycle (introduction, growth, maturity, and decline), ensuring that maximum business value is achieved over the life of the solution and ensure that solutions deliver tangible business value. Generate ideas and collaborate in converting ideas at an enterprise level into a steady stream of valuable products and services that requires ongoing coordination and communication across the organisation to bridge enterprise strategy and execution. Support, coach and guide members of the product management capability and drive thought leadership in the organisation. Job Responsibilities Continuously explores the Solution Context for multiple product and services, gathering qualitative and quantitative insights about market dynamics and user preferences leveraging both business and technical strategy to produce the hypotheses that fuel the Continuous Delivery Pipeline. Drive primary and secondary research and leverages both to inform overall product strategy and specific elements of product design. Understand segments, customer needs, and market rhythms to achieve maximum business value by deploying the right product to the customer at the right time. Ensure that solutions deliver maximum business benefit through understanding of the needs of end users. Employ iterative elicitation techniques such as Lean UX, human-centred design (HCD), and journey mapping to evolve product strategy in alignment with these ever-changing needs. Drive a customer-centric mindset that focuses the entire organization on creating desirable, viable, feasible, and sustainable solutions. Ensure engagement with customers throughout the product life cycle to ensure that the customer’s needs are built into product strategy from the start and remain reflected in released solutions as the customer’s needs change over time. Leverages design thinking practices and tools to fully understand the problems to be solved and to design the solutions that best address them. Drive continuous feedback by involving customers frequently in Continuous Exploration Accountable to translate customer needs into solution concepts that can be delivered by Agile Teams and achieve measurable business outcomes. Responsible for aligning the product strategy, vision, and roadmap to the portfolio’s Strategic Themes and for maintaining alignment with the Portfolio Vision, Lean Budgets, Guardrails, and, when necessary, the solution vision. Responsible for ensuring a holistic view of roadmaps and budget allocation across the range of products and driving for business and customer value. Identify growth opportunities and develop the Epic hypothesis and lean business cases to drive enterprise strategy, considering both growth and cost management factors. Identifies the specific value desired by customers from a solution in addition to the value the enterprise requires in return. Continuously refines and communicates the product vision to the delivery teams (ART). During each PI Planning session, presents the vision, highlighting prioritized features and relevant Milestones. Works with Solution Management during Pre-PI Planning to communicate the product vision to Solution Train stakeholders and calibrate it to the solution vision. Adjusts product strategy and vision in response to changing business objectives and customer needs over the product life cycle. Supports the flow of work through the ART Backlog, ensuring most current needs of customers, product strategy, and roadmaps are met. Ensures that features in the ART backlog contain clear benefit hypotheses and acceptance criteria and linked back to solution KPI’s. Ensures that the backlog is reprioritized by using best practise e.g. Weighted Short Job First (WSJF) before each PI Planning session. Examines a feature’s implementation against its acceptance criteria and determines whether it contains enough business value to be released. Support the ongoing development and maintenance of Architectural Runway. Collaborate with Engineering leads, by negotiating capacity allocations that balance the concentration of business and enabler features in the ART/Solution backlog. Participate in relevant ART/Solution events. Leverages the Continuous Delivery Pipeline to release value with optimal market timing. Collaborate with Value Stream stakeholders to ensure solutions deliver value to the enterprise and in- market solutions are maintained. Provides support and enablement to key functions in the operational value stream to ensure the full value of every release is realized and tracked. Responsible for product performance - both measuring and improving. Drive commercialisation strategies for the range of products ensuring that enterprise (e.g. cross-cluster or cross-segment) targets are being met, working collaboratively with cross functional teams to enable full value of solutions to be realised Provide robust feedback to enterprise executives on business and technology performance, roadmaps and strategies that will drive the futureproofing of the business in enabling market leading solutions Collaborate with Chapter COEs to clearly understand and adopt their practices, principles, and ways of working. Contribute to and engage with product owner CoE to advance the practices and quality of product owners in the organisation. Essential Qualifications - NQF Level Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees Preferred Qualification Business / Commercial / Engineering / Computer Science Postgraduate diploma or NQF level 7 qualification. Hono urs qualification is beneficial.
