The overall job purpose of the HR Business Partner is to oversee and manage aspects of the human resources function within the South African business. This includes implementing HR policies and procedures, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring compliance with labour laws and regulations. Reporting into the Global HR Director, the HR Business Partner for South Africa plays a crucial role in fostering a positive and inclusive work environment, resolving employee conflicts, providing guidance and support to employees, and promoting employee engagement and satisfaction. Specific Responsibilities: Stay abreast of all SA labour legislation and evolving needs of the employer and its employees. Maintain staff files and handle administration tasks. Handle labour disputes and remedy any issues that employees might have. Accurately process all staff changes such as designation changes, transfers, salary increases, and promotions. Process resignations, dismissals, abscondments, and end of contracts accurately. Manage and run Employment Equity initiatives. Conduct staff and management consultations. Administer exit interviews. Manage any SETA submissions. Manage health and safety initiatives. Provide documents for Department of Labour inspections. Administer the process for new employees, including contracts, appointment letters, and pre-employment checks. Manage the disciplinary process. Benefit administration (medical, provident and risk). Oversee office management duties. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE CONSIDERED? Strong employee relations background. Expert knowledge of applicable labour laws in South Africa. Experience in employment equity laws and activities Good communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management. Strong organisational, time, and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills to make recommendations and decisions based on solid assumptions. Results-oriented, adaptable, and proven drive and follow-through in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently, as well as in a team setting. Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills balanced with creativity. Ability to work collaboratively and influence up and across levels, functions, and divisions within the organization.
