Our client, an accomplished freight company, currently seeks to hire an HR Officer to be based in their Bluff, Durban offices. Reporting into the HR Manager, this position will oversee the various aspects of human resources management including but not limited to, training & development, payroll administration, employee relations, employee wellbeing, recruitment & selection and employment equity. Minimum Requirements: Matric/ Grade 12 Diploma/ Degree in Human Resources/ Honors Industrial Psychology At least 5 years' HR Generalist experience Minimum 3 years' payroll experience MS Office SAGE 300 system experience or similar HRIS Main duties will include, but are not limited to: Training and Skills Development Develops, uploads and submit Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR) to TETA Liaises with Training Providers and TETA Monitors discretionary/mandatory SDL rebates Assist line managers in identifying skills gaps Schedules and coordinates training interventions (incl. Learnership & apprenticeship programmes) for employees in liaison with line managers Co-ordinates bursary programme in line with Training & Development policy Uploads training information on the system monthly Co-ordinating and acting as secretary to SD Committtee Advises management and employees on training & development matters Employee Relations Maintains relationship with unions and employees Ensures communication with employees and unions is good and up to date Attends to employee's issues timeously Administers disciplinary hearings and grievances Attends disciplinary hearings and grievances Assists HRM in preparation for CCMA and Labour Court matters Payroll and HR administration Carry out the administration of payroll Onboarding of new employees and terminations on the system (K2 system), Uploading/updating of training and development information on the SAGE system & BBBEE Toolkit Updates employee's personal files/information (K2 system) Prepares HR statistics and reports, Liaises with medical aid, pension/provident funds and other benefit providers as required. Recruitment and selection Assists line managers in grading of position (in liaison with service providers) Assist line managers in developing role profiles Advertises vacant positions - internally and/or externally (liaises with Recruitment Agencies) Assists line managers with the shortlisting process Assists line managers with scheduling of interviews Conducts reference checks Conducts qualification verification processes (liaises with service providers) Conducts criminal record checks (liaises with service providers) Assists with psychometric assessments (liaises with service providers) Issue letter of appointment and contracts in liaison with line managers Employs new employees on the system (K2) Participate in employee liaison and other activities of the HR Department Ensures that all necessary employment policies are communicated as required, Ensures that employees are kept informed of new/changed fund rules, Attends to employee's queries and provides practical assistance and/or advice, Attends regional medical aid and retirement fund meetings with HRM Assists with induction as required (Completing of documents) Carries out special projects as and when required within the skill and authority levels of this position, Employment Equity Develops, uploads and submit EE Plan and report to Department of Employment & Labour Co-ordinating and acting as secretary to EE Committee Advises management of EE matters Updates EE reports/minutes on the system and publishes to stakeholder (employees) Performance Management Assisting HRM with ensuring that all performance contracting and reviews are done timeously. Advises management of performance management matters (e.g. Poor performance Management) Updates performance management information on the system Employee Wellness Liaises with internal clinic on employee wellness matters Coordinates employee wellness interventions including campaigns Administers employee's medical boarding processes in liaison with line managers, company Occupational Medical Practitioner (OMP) and Provident/pension Fund Desired Skills: HR Officer Human Resource Officer SAGE 300 SAGE Training Development Learning CCMA Payroll HR Coordinator HR Administration Desired Work Experience: 5 to 10 years Desired Qualification Level: Diploma Apply Now
