Our client is seeking an IFRS Finance Specialist to become a cornerstone of their Group Finance Department. This is a unique opportunity to merge your expertise in IFRS with a passion for financial compliance and stakeholder management. You will be the go-to expert, navigating the complexities of financial standards and ensuring the seamless integration of IFRS across the company's operations. Responsibilities: Craft and refine technical interpretation papers on IFRS. Engage in high-stakes presentations and debates with external auditors, showcasing your expertise. Develop compelling technical argument papers for the Group Audit Committee. Offer your technical accounting expertise to support business units. Dive into tax calculations and interpretations, collaborating with specialists to cover all angles. Be proactive in tax risk management and participate in the review of indirect taxes. Foster and maintain an effective relationship with external auditors. Lead project management efforts on strategic ad hoc projects. Oversee the Annual Financial Statements (AFS) process with precision and authority. Requirements: CA(SA) accreditation with 8-10 years of post-articles experience is preferred. A proven history in a technical role, with a penchant for IFRS intricacies. Tax knowledge and IFRS 17 experience, or a willingness to become an IFRS 17 specialist. Must thrive in the office environment, with full-time presence required.
