Summary of role: Design systems that maximize productivity and increase efficiency, reduce wastefulness and production issues, deliver solutions that are cost-efficient, and ensure high product quality. Apply sound Industrial Engineering techniques to improve operating performance and reduce wastage and delays. Ensure high production and produce cost reductions and higher levels of efficiency. Development of manufacturing methods to improve material handling in production. Plan, co-ordinate and maintain all manufacturing information and systems. Co-ordinate the movement of raw/finished products from point of origin to point of consumption. Develop most efficient ways to use people, machines, materials, information, and energy to make a product or service. Optimise methods of organisation. Study product requirements and design manufacturing and information systems to meet requirements. Develop management control systems. Perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes. Assist in financial planning and cost analysis. Design methods to ensure product quality. Determine most viable plant and factory locations. Resolve production problems. Design layout of equipment and workspace. Estimate production costs. Evaluate accuracy of production and testing equipment Tertiary Qualification – Degree in Industrial Engineering (essential) Computer Literacy in MS Office (essential) 3-5 years proven relevant experience Experience within the trailer manufacturing/automotive/steel or engineering industry will be beneficial
