Reference: DUR002820-SN-6Our client, a proudly South African concern, seeks your unique experience to provide strategic direction, lead and oversee all aspects of this long-established manufacturing company's Information and Operations Technology (I&OT). You will collaborate with Executive Management to identify, evaluate, and implement technology systems and solutions that support the company’s overall goals and objectives. Review IT to become an enabler of business strategy.This position requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership, risk management, agility and commercial acumen. Minimum Job Requirements: Honours Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering essential. Postgraduate qualification (MBA or Technology Management) an added advantage. At least 12 years’ post qualification experience with demonstrated experience in information and operations technology management in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Min. 5 years’ experience in a Senior Leadership/Executive role. Convincing strategic, business and technical astuteness is a must. Job Relations Skills: Industry, business and organisational knowledge and skill, including thought leadership in I&OT. I&OT strategy development and execution, including digital and cloud transformation. Demonstrated capability in leading large, complex and/or transformational initiatives. IT governance leadership and risk management with enterprise architecture and enterprise information management skills. Solid working knowledge of current security protocols and threats, including privacy and cybersecurity. Strong people management and exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate vision that inspires and motivates staff. Ability to effectively communicate and instil confidence with peers and all key stakeholders. Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills. Responsibilities: Ownership and implementation of the multi-year IT/OT strategy and roadmap for development of technology capability that supports the changing needs of business and strategy. Act as a trusted advisor to the Managing Director and the Executive team and instil confidence in decisions regarding the application of information and operations technology (I&OT) within their units and across the organisation. Establish active relationships with the Executive Committee Members and their teams. Responsible for the delivery of all aspects of the IT/OT strategy, budget, resources, systems, third party management. Balance the need for growing the agility required to achieve business objectives, with ensuring the core I&OT functions are reliable, stable and efficient. Contribute actively to the company's strategy and strategic planning process through collaboration with Executive Leadership and Business Partners to define and execute the information and operations technology strategy that ensures business enablement and value contribution. Provide strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and support of Information and Operations Technology (I&OT) systems and programs that fulfil the needs of the business, including enterprise architecture management, enterprise information and records management, privacy and cybersecurity, application management and infrastructure and operations support management. Maintain product on new technologies and platform and provide direction on what emerging technologies should be assimilated, integrated and introduced within the organisation to ensure I&OT capabilities respond to the needs of the business strategy. Develop and control annual operating and capital expenditure budget for IT/OT to ensure the investment in technologies are consistent with the organisation’s overall strategic objectives and is within plan. Ensure I&OT capabilities are delivered reliably, sustainably, cost effectively and securely with agility based on changing business objectives, goals and strategies. Direct the design and implementation of the I&OT operating model, organisational structure, and governance process, using influencing and negotiation skills to create synergies across the organisation and the Group to enable cost-effective and innovative shared solutions in achievement of business goals. Drive the development of enterprise architecture and technology standards and performance metrics to ensure IT delivers value to the organisation. Implement governance, risk and compliance (GRC) to mitigate information, data and technology risks. Through adequate and effective design, delivery and management of I&OT capabilities and controls for the organisation. Develop and maintain an I&T workforce with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, technical skills and competencies.
