IT Business Analyst - Brambles - South Africa

IT Business Analyst Position To understand business requirements and processes and identify business technology and/or process & information opportunities, working with business and IT managers to develop, implement and maintain solutions which deliver business value within agreed timelines and budgets. Location : Durban (Hybrid) Measures : The Key Performance Indicators for this role are driven by the business' operational goals, and related IT business-aligned goals, and cover the following categories of performance: Metrics and KPI's related to the effectiveness of the role (OP) Alignment of IT programs and business strategic goals Quality of output (measured by customer and user satisfaction) Quality of solutions proposed by the team (measured by success of solutions proposed) Key Tasks and accountabilities Elicits, analyses, and documents requirements (business, functional, and non-functional) Works with key stakeholders to prioritize requirements most beneficial to the business Ensures compliance with Global IT strategies, enterprise architecture, and best practices as well as all relevant local/regional/global governmental regulations Reinforce the project goals and objectives to prevent scope creep/gold plating Recommends solution options which directly impact the success of a project or initiative Effectively communicates with business stakeholders, project managers, product owners, systems analysts, developers, and quality assurance analysts to ensure requirements are clearly stated, buildable, and testable Oversees the successful completion of User Acceptance Testing, tracking testing progress and defect resolution Challenges/Problem Solving : Working with multiple geographies to deliver projects and products Rapidly absorbing new technical or business information and applying it effectively Negotiating users to change behaviour, adopting new tools and processes Navigating IT capabilities and constraints whilst working to meet the business needs Implementation of communications strategy. Examples include risk escalation, incident management, lessons learned, team corrective actions, the collection and dissemination of relevant information appropriately Qualifications Essential Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, relevant business field preferred Certifications preferred: IIBA - ECBA, CCBA, CBAP PMI - PBA Equivalent combination of education / experience Desirable Qualifications Project Management certification such as PMP, CAPM or PRINCE2 Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Looking for 3 years business analysis experience Experience within an IT focussed role Experience with Waterfall, Hybrid, and Agile methodologies Experience with the software delivery lifecycle Proven success in improving the customer experience Experience working within a matrix structure Experience working remotely with globally scattered users and teams Experience influencing others with limited/no direct authority Skills and Knowledge Relationship Management Use facilitation skills to encourage participation from all attendees Influence others to drive decisions and actions Use active listening skills to understand "real" issues/needs and build trust Leverage negotiation and conflict management skills reach agreements Strong Analytical and Critical Thinking Ability to put the pieces together Inspire others to think creatively and identify innovative solutions Leverage holistic view of people, processes, and technology Use a structured approach to problem solving Demonstrate Effective Communication well prepared, stakeholder-focused written communications Adapt communication styles to the needs of the situation and the individual/audience Ensure comprehension of new concepts (lead demos, trainings, informal communications) Help others make the best decision based on appropriate criteria, such as: business need, opportunities, risk, compliance, and ability to achieve the desired outcome Present complex concepts in understandable terms to all levels in the organization Comfortable with Change and Ambiguity Adapt to and embrace changing situations as an opportunity, rather than an obstacle Demonstrate an ability to learn quickly and willingly Other Key Skills Foster a collaborative working environment Leverage an understanding of the organization to identify the most effective means of implementing a change Technical and Application Knowledge Experience of a CRM [example: Siebel, Salesforce] and SAP Understanding of EDI and API concepts Understanding of Web, Mobile, and IoT concepts Preferred Education Bachelors Preferred Level of Work Experience 3 - 5 yearsHybrid Remote We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and we are committed to developing a diverse workforce in which everyone is treated fairly, with respect, and has the opportunity to contribute to business success while realizing his or her potential.
