IT ERP Project Manager - Port Elizabeth
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Management:
â Create and maintain a comprehensive project plan that outlines the project's scope, schedule,
budget, and resource requirements.
â Establish a project team, define roles and responsibilities, and develop a communication plan.
â Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to keep the project on track.
2. Stakeholder Management:
â Work closely with stakeholders, including the executive team, department managers, IT personnel,
and end-users.
â Ensure the ERP system aligns with the organization's requirements and objectives.
â Maintain relationships with stakeholders, communicate project updates, and manage
expectations.
3. Budget Management:
â Establish a project budget, track costs, and report on budget variances.
â Collaborate with stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities and develop effective
contingency plans.
4. Risk Management:
â Identify project risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.
â Proactively assess risks and work with stakeholders to create a risk management plan.
5. Resource Management:
â Manage project resources, including project team members, vendors, and contractors.
â Ensure the team is appropriately staffed, trained, and motivated to achieve project objectives.
Qualifications:
â Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as Business Administration, Information Technology, or Project
Management).
â Proven experience managing ERP implementation projects.
â Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and risk management.
â Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
â Familiarity with ERP systems and their integration into organizational processes.
ADDITIONAL NOTES / SUMMARY:
Emphasis must be given to the following requirements:
- Must have played a Project Management role on at least 2 ERP Projects
- Must understand the ERP Life Cycle (key project phases, tasks, activities and deliverables per phase)
- Must have good leadership/people and communication skills.
- Should also be someone who is quite resolute i.e. can hold people to account, manage Vendors, make
the tough calls, deliver the bad news when necessary, etc
