My Client is an Automation, Simulation, Communication and Ground Control Solutions Company based in the Western Cape / Helderburg area Must reside in or near the Helderburg area (Stellenbosch, Strand, Somerset West, Gordons Bay, Airport Industria, Macassar) Key responsibilities I ncludes the following but is not limited to: Operations-related IT, including: Develop propose, procure, implement, configure, optimize and maintain IT infrastructure (e.g. servers, networks, PABX, Firewall / Security, backups, CCTV, access control, etc.), user support (software and hardware troubleshooting, procurement, user assistance, etc.) and software solutions (managing installations, licenses and cloud-based services) Product and Development support to the production team as and when required. Careful documentation of all activities to serve as useful record of development decisions, configurations, infrastructure, usernames, passwords and results. General administrative and technical tasks in support of the Employer’s operations, from time to time and performing minor support roles within the company. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Advanced Diploma / National Diploma in Information Technology or similar qualification. Required Skills and Experience: 3-5 years of relevant work experience Significant experience with Linux administration and Python Significant experience with business networks Experience with cloud services (AWS preferred) Experience with network security (intrusion detection, encryption) Experience with virtualization (Docker, VSphere, VirtualBox).
