Hambisana is an expanding IT Support organisation that is looking for a Technical Support Engineer in the Randburg / Fourways area (and roaming to various clients). Primary Responsibilities The role of Technical Support Engineer is divided into the following areas of responsibility: Provide general desktop support. Fast and effective problem resolution. Monitor Active Directory, Exchange, VMware, SQL infrastructure & others. Continually review the IT software / hardware infrastructure to ensure robustness and efficiency. Diagnose and resolve technical issues. Investigate and implement automated processes. Identify system / service bottlenecks and / or single-points-of-failure and develop solutions to overcome them. Manage backups and tape rotation. Exchange Server (and other) mailbox maintenance. Identify and ensure technology assets are documented and mapped out correctly. Ensure maintenance schedules are maintained and contribute to the overall health of the system. Liaise with all company personnel regarding IT issues. Setup and configure new laptops / desktops. Ensure security patches and upgrades are applied and kept up to date. Complete internal user moves including phones. Install and configure systems and applications in support of daily operations. OWN TRANSPORT IS ESSENTIAL Required technical skills Training in Information Technology, Computer Science or other relevant field 3 Years experience Experience in or exposure to a client/people facing role specifically technical support Amenable to a flexible work schedule, as the need arises. Preferably certification on the following: A & N Microsoft 365 MS Windows Servers (MCSE) Other training is a plus Soft skills Analytical thinking. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
