Junior Accountant - East London
Job Overview:
- An established and growing Civil Construction business, operating in the Eastern Cape and KZN, is looking for an Junior Accountant to join their team. This role will report to the Financial Accountant, as well as the Finance Manager.
Minimum Requirements / Experience:
Minimum requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Accounting
- 2+ years of experience in a finance department
- Vehicle and valid Driver’s License
Required knowledge / experience:
- Solid Accounting knowledge, from processing to Financial Statements
- Working knowledge of BEE codes and practices (highly advantageous)
- Sound knowledge of financial statements and accounting
Responsibilities:
Overall, this position will assist the Finance Manager and other senior staff members with any allocated work, related to finance/accounting and BBBEE. Duties may include but not be limited to:
- Processing bank statements / cashbook
- Preparing for audit
- Assisting with Creditors at month-end
- Assisting with Wages at month-end
- Preparing for BBBEE external/internal audits, and being responsible for these
Competencies / Skills:
- Good numerical ability/grasp of numbers
- Strong attention to detail
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software
- Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills
