Junior Accountant - East London

- Matric certificate.
- Diploma/certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
- Minimum of three years proven work experience in a similar role.
- Ability to take instruction from superiors and work in a team environment.
- Experience with spreadsheets.
- Honesty, integrity and reliability.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Advantageous: experience with accounting software (e.g. Pastel, etc.)
- Advantageous: candidates based in the East London area.
Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:
- Performing reconciliations of: Cash on hand (daily), Card sales transactions (daily), Payments and accounts payable (monthly).
- Daily bookkeeping of transactions on site.
- Assist with stock control processes as and when required.
- Assist the Senior Accountant and Office Manager with preparing budget forecasts and financial reports that may be requested by management.
- Ensure timely bank payments and monthly financial analysis packs.
- Audit financial transactions and documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Comply with financial policies and regulations.
- Coordinate with Head Office and external auditors and prepare for audits to ensure compliance with required regulations.
- Maintain internal controls over financial transactions and reporting.
- Contribute to cost-reduction initiatives and financial efficiency improvements.
- Data capturing.
