Cathcart Area – Eastern Cape: Our client is looking for a Junior/ Assistant Manager to join the team. Only candidates with the relevant experience will be considered. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Agricultural diploma / degree advantageous At least 1 previous year experience with livestock or Dairy farming Must have excellent work ethic Ability to work with their hands and willing to learn Ability to lead from the front Energetic, hardworking, and self-driven individual Ability to AI Computer literate Ability to use a chainsaw and other power tools is advantageous Good Communication skills Maintenance and mechanically orientated Valid drivers license RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Stock work daily checking on stock (includes identifying sick animals) herding and counting stock weighing injecting dehorning branding AI (dairy specific) heat spotting (dairy specific) Tractor work (includes but is not limited to) tractor driving & implement use planting fertilising mowing / mulching baling, raking, wrapping lime spreading coulter ripping (conditioning) basic tractor care and maintenance Dairy (includes but is not limited to) A basic understanding of the dairy and all tasks required to make milking happen, as well as a basic understanding of the machine. pasture measuring using rising plate meter General farm work (includes but is not limited to) irrigation management (drag lines, permaset, pivots) water pipes (fixing, installing etc) working with electric fencing (permanent and poly wire lines) setting up lands for strip grazing using GPS ONLY short-listed candidates will be contacted Apply Now
