A stable international organisation who are the leading suppliers of industrial liquid conveyancing systems is looking for a young and highly motivated Junior Cost Accountant to join their team 3 days a week at their offices in Steenberg, Cape Town. The Cost Accountant will have the opportunity to grow the position to a full time employment over the next 2 years. Job Summary The Cost Accountant will analyse all cost and expenditures related to each sales transaction/project. This includes the quotation and the final costing once the transaction is completed. This includes creating a reporting system to analyse the following points for each project/sales transactions: Product costs Transport costs Rate of Exchange variances from costing to quoting to invoicing and supplier payment Storage costs Finance charges Additionally the cost accountant will establish a reporting system for all operational costs of the company. Principal Duties and Responsibilities · The cost accountant will report directly to the managing director · Prepare monthly operational reports including budget, actual and variance · Prepare monthly standard and gross margin analyses as well as monthly cost of goods procured and cost of goods sold' statements · Work with internal and external sales assisting with costings for quotations · Works with Managing Director to analyse, discuss and suggest adequate pricing based on operational costs within the facility · Support external audit and tax preparation functions as relates to cost accounting · Review current and suggest additional operational reports to properly assess the financial implications of manufacturing activities Education/Experience · Qualification in accounting and finance or final year Bachelor student looking to build experience within a large organization · Proven record in assisting operational leadership with understanding and improving processes to support bottom line results (school, university or sports) Certifications/Other Skills and Abilities · Strong skills with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and you for your interest in our company. Package is based on experience and final negotiation and range between R10 000 – R20 000
