Introduction The client is the leading manufacturer of laboratory equipment in Southern Africa. Description General description:Create new parts and assembly drawings plus supporting material for new or existing products under the guidance of the head of the department. Primary Functions: Execute engineering change requests as per our documented system. Prepare new designs and execute all the necessary steps, following our documented design process, including the assembling of prototypes and performance testing. Create a manual bill of materials for new or revised products. Liaise with suppliers on technical issues with outsourced parts. Keep records and maintain files by our documented ISO system. Work together with production department to ensure the smooth transition of products from prototype to production models. Perform testing of appliances. Able to deliver product designs to agreed project deadlines. Communicate clearly both written and verbally as required. Provide up to date feedback and progress on projects or tasks on hand. Profile Essential skills: Strong understanding of a 3d design SolidWorks software. Solid background as a draftsman in a mechanical environment Good drawing office administration skills. Ability to handle supplier’s requests professionally and provide them with drawings where necessary. Strong written and verbal communication skills Good ‘hands-on’ skills.
