Responsibilities include providing assistance to editorial and/or production workflows for scholarly peer-reviewed journals. Ideal candidates should possess a relevant diploma or degree in Language Practice, Applied Language Studies, or Applied Linguistics. Experience with one or more manuscript management systems would be beneficial. Responsibilities: Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders of the journal, including editors, authors, publishers, and colleagues. Conduct thorough quality checks on new and revised manuscript submissions in accordance with checklists and journal policies. Adhere to precise workflow protocols and ensure compliance with all manuscript requirements. Coordinate manuscript peer review by reaching out to editors and reviewers as instructed. Utilize cloud-based technology for effective communication and productivity enhancement. Review and dispatch decision letters and other communications to authors, editors, and reviewers after proofreading. Fulfill all assigned tasks within scheduled hours and meet productivity targets. Demonstrate proficiency in using the manuscript management system. Offer technical support to editors, reviewers, and authors regarding submission requirements and the submission system. Provide guidance to new colleagues under the supervision of experienced team members. Requirements Degree or diploma in Language Practice, Applied Language Studies, or Applied Linguistics. Strong interest in the publishing industry Strong organisational skills Experience with one or more manuscript management systems will be advantageous. Customer service experience Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent proficiency in English language skills, including reading, writing, understanding, and speaking Excellent MS Office skills, particularly in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook Highly organized and self-motivated, with strong time-management and project management skills Ability to work well under pressure in an open-plan environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Apply Now
