Junior Financial Manager - Stellenbosch

A well-established manufacturing business in the Cape Winelands is looking to employ a Junior Financial Manager. They are looking for an experienced financial professional with an inquisitive, dynamic, and analytical nature to take charge of this role. The ideal candidate will have completed SAICA, CIMA or SAIPA articles and will be registered or be eligible to register with a professional finance regulatory body. Post articles experience in a similar role will be highly desirable, and experience in manufacturing or related industry a definite benefit. Xero accounting system experience, Imports and Inventory knowledge will be a positive. This role will be a good fit for a candidate that likes to get involved in the numbers, but also the commercial and operational side of the business. Role Description This position is responsible for the full financial function. To contribute to the development and implementation of the departmental accounting systems, policies and procedures. Supports the business through the collection, processing, recording, reconciliation, and reporting of financial data, verifying the validity, completeness and accuracy of source documentation. Maintain complete and proper records of revenue, expenditure, assets and liabilities, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information. Key Responsibilities The financial manager will be responsible for the following: Accounting: Capturing transactions on the electronic accounting system (Xero) and on any other necessary systems (customers, bank, petty cash, journals and suppliers). Accurate and timely monthly management statements. Accurate and up to date budgets. Evaluate business performance against budgets and forecasts. Accurate and timely provisional tax calculations. Maintain monthly cash projections. Statements sent to clients weekly and monthly (and follow-ups). Send bi-monthly VAT to outsource accounting firm. Send monthly payroll to outsource accounting firm. Weekly payables and receivables reporting. Load monthly and ad hoc payments for authorization. Liaise with suppliers to order stock and/or parts, where applicable. Manage stock levels, where applicable. Ad hoc tasks as requested from management. Human resources: Manage staff through Joblaw. Assist with recruiting and employment contract detail. Stock & production: Planning stock levels with MD. Ordering of stock and creating purchase orders. Liaise with suppliers re all stock production and packaging (local and foreign). Shipping: Liaise with forwarders/suppliers and complete relevant paperwork. Payments: Load all supplier deposits/payments for authorization. GRV all stock. General stock control monthly stock takes. Defects/discrepancies/returns/credits/invoices and dealing directly with clients and/or suppliers. Admin: Manage IT hardware, emails, software licenses and internet maintenance. Handle all company related general queries. Filing of all company paperwork (digital and manual). Manage company marketing & company website. Branding: Oversee smooth running of daily branding production schedule. Oversee general running of the stock warehouse from the machinery maintenance, branding to dispatch of goods. Other responsibilities: Upholding of the Company Confidentiality Agreement. Compliance with all relevant legislations. Effective management and continuity of all related activities. All performance related tasks as required. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or similar. Completed SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA articles. AGA(SA), CA(SA), PA(SA) or CIMA advantageous. Post articles experience in a similar role will secure. Xero software experience highly recommended. Microsoft Excel – intermediate to advanced level. Computer literate - good working knowledge of Microsoft Office package. Aptitude in working with figures is essential. Remuneration: R30,000 to R40,000 pm, depending on experience. Apply Now
