Junior Industrial Engineer - Johannesburg

Responsibilities include:
  1. Process Documentation:
    • Documenting the entire process flow of product development, manufacturing, and distribution within the OEM company.
    • Creating detailed process maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions for various departments and functions.
  2. Process Analysis and Improvement:
    • Analyzing current processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
    • Proposing and implementing solutions to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
    • Conducting time and motion studies to optimize resource allocation and minimize cycle times.
  3. Quality Control and Assurance:
    • Collaborating with quality assurance teams to develop and implement quality control measures throughout the manufacturing process.
    • Monitoring and analyzing product quality data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  4. Supply Chain Management:
    • Assisting in the management of the supply chain, including procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
    • Optimizing inventory levels and lead times to ensure timely delivery of components and materials.
  5. Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all aspects of operations.
    • Participating in safety audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, procurement, and logistics, to achieve organizational goals.
    • Supporting and contributing to cross-functional projects and initiatives as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of industrial engineering principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and process mapping software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
