Reference: JHB003046-LF-1We are currently seeking a Junior Legal Personal Assistant with 5 years plus experience to join our client’s team and support the attorneys in their daily activities.As a Junior Legal Personal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support to a legal team of 2 partners, 2 associates and 3 candidate attorneys. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized and detail-oriented individual who is interested in gaining valuable experience in the legal field. Qualifications & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in legal studies or office administration preferred. Previous experience of at least 5 years in a legal administrative role is essential. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and courteous demeanour. Typing speed of 65 wpm plus Experience in Lawpac and Harvest is an advantage Package: Salary is market related, depending on experience and references Responsibilities include but not limited to: Under the guidance of the senior Legal Personal Assistant, you will provide administrative support to attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and making travel arrangements. Assist with document preparation, including drafting and formatting legal documents, correspondence, and court filings. Organize and maintain electronic and physical files, ensuring that all documents are properly labelled and stored. Coordinate communication with clients, colleagues, and external parties, both in person and via phone, email, and mail. Conduct legal research and gather relevant information as requested by attorneys. Assist with billing and timekeeping activities, including tracking billable hours and preparing invoices. Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, presentations, and other materials as needed. Handle general office duties, such as answering phones, filing, photocopying, and scanning documents. Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by attorneys or senior staff members. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize assignments effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and familiarity with legal software and databases preferred. Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks, with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
