Junior Project Manager Job Specification Job Description The Junior Project Manager supports project management activities within the business and works closely with the respective project managers and project teams. This role will be involved in administrative and planning tasks, as well as ad hoc project specific responsibilities which are administrative in nature. The administrator will be instrumental in team communication, keeping project documentation updated, and preparing information for stakeholders of various levels in the organisation. Key Responsibilities: Assist in project planning: Help create project plans, including defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in conjunction and in consultation with the project manager and where relevant, business stakeholders. Create document and other help tool templates to be used in the project planning and tracking process. Coordinate project activities: Coordinate and schedule meetings, prepare meeting agendas, take minutes, and distribute relevant project documentation to team members. Track project progress: Update project status reports and communicate progress to the project manager and team members. Maintain project documentation: Organize and maintain project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. Ensure that documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible to project team members. Support project communication: Facilitate effective communication among project team members, stakeholders, and external parties. Assist in preparing project-related communications, such as memos, emails, and presentations. Assist with risk management: Identify and document project risks, issues, and dependencies. Support the project manager in developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans. Provide administrative support: Perform general administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and record keeping. Approve budgets and timesheets. Collaborate with project team: Work closely with project team members, providing administrative support, coordinating activities, and ensuring effective collaboration and information sharing. Qualifications: National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in business administration and or project management related field will be advantageous. Formal project management framework training will be advantageous. (AGILE/ SCRUM/KANBAN/PRINCE2/PMBOK and others) Experience: Extensive working knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools is essential. Minimum 3 years working in a development environment with extensive exposure to IT projects. Demonstrated experience in supporting project managers and teams in delivering projects. Knowledge of fresh perishable domain would be a great advantage Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines. Detail orientated and methodical. Analytical and critical thinking skills to assess situations, make decisions, and implement solutions. Collaboration and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
