Reference: CPT000842-BS-1Our client a Civil Engineering company based in Pretoria is growing, they have an opportunity available for a Junior Civil Structural Engineer/Technician This role requires someone with 2 years’ experience as a Jnr Civil Engineer and someone who is able to spend the first 3 months in Clarens and then return to Pretoria offices permanently, accommodation in Clarens will be provided for these 3 months. The project will start on 1 April. Qualification / skills and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering / Diploma Someone who is keen to get on site experience 2-3 years’ experience in Structural Engineering is required Experience on these systems will be advantageous: Revit, Prokon, AutoCAD and Civil 3D Job description: Report to the Structural Engineer Ensure structures can withstand the stresses and pressures imposed by use and the environment Make periodic site visits to monitor progress and ensure that projects are completed according to specifications and construction codes. Reviewing and preparing designs, plans, and estimates for various construction projects. Preparing reports, designs and drawings Making calculations about loads and stresses Selecting appropriate construction materials Providing technical advice Obtaining planning and/or building regulations approval Liaising with relevant professional staff such as architects Monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by contractors Understanding and interpreting project plans and specifications.
