RPO Recruitment's client, a leading retail company in the fashion industry, is seeking a talented and experienced Kidswear Fashion Designer to join their team in Cape Town. As a Kidswear Fashion Designer, you will play a vital role in creating innovative and trendy designs for children's clothing, capturing the essence of the brand and meeting the demands of the target market. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of designers, merchandisers, and buyers to develop creative and marketable designs that align with the company's brand image and customer preferences. You will be responsible for conceptualizing design concepts, creating sketches, selecting fabrics and trims, and overseeing the entire design process from inception to final product. If you have a passion for fashion and a keen eye for trends, along with strong design skills and a deep understanding of the kidswear market, we would love to hear from you. Responsibilities: Research and analyze current kidswear trends and market demands Create innovative and on-trend designs for children's clothing Develop sketches and design concepts based on market research and brand guidelines Select appropriate fabrics, colors, and trims for each design Collaborate with merchandisers and buyers to ensure designs meet market needs and are commercially viable Oversee the entire design process, from initial sketching to final product Communicate design ideas and specifications to manufacturers and suppliers Maintain a thorough understanding of the kidswear market, including competitor analysis and pricing strategies Stay updated on industry trends, fashion shows, and trade fairs Requirements Proven work experience as a Kidswear Fashion Designer in the retail industry Strong design portfolio demonstrating creativity and attention to detail In-depth knowledge of kidswear fashion trends, fabrics, and trims Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop Excellent sketching and illustration skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines Strong communication and presentation skills Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field Benefits Salary: negotiable Contact RPO Recruitment for your next career opportunity.
