Join our client in shaping their financial journey, as they seek a vibrant Lead Cost Accountant to infuse dynamic enthusiasm into their team in this FMCG company. As the Lead Cost Accountant you will be responsible for the below: Establish and oversee standard costs, employing a fully absorbed, activity-based model, in collaboration with Procurement and Operations. This involves costing for both new products and modifications to existing costs. Ensure accurate and timely incorporation of new and revised bill of materials. Generate a weekly performance report outlining the factories' current month performance and forecasted performance for the month. Review and address open orders and long outstanding orders. For month-end reporting, compile a list of accruals, verify adherence to cut-off transactions, prepare supporting documentation for adjusting journals, and validate GL accounts. Monitor daily cost variances determined by the cost analyst and ensure material items are escalated to site management for resolution. Monthly reporting on material cost variances, over/under recoveries, and improvement projects. Collaborate with department heads on cost control, budgeting, and forecasting, conducting revisions or simulations as necessary. Ensure transparency of costs and financial implications of significant decisions within the cluster of factories. Conduct a critical evaluation of investment or new operating proposals, employing sensitivity analysis to verify their potential returns. Conduct periodic follow-up reviews. Ensure internal controls at each unit are sufficient, regularly monitored, and compliant with standard operating procedures. Support audit processes and be accountable for the control self-assessment program, implementing audit recommendations. Identify opportunities for cost reduction initiatives and actively contribute to improvement projects, reviewing and validating proposed savings. Support by helping for inventory and fixed assets balance sheet reconciliations. Maintain the integrity of stock takes and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, including authorization of inventory write-offs. Provide guidance and support to cost accountants and cost analysts reporting to this position, ensuring the integrity and timely delivery of their outputs. Apply Now
