Lead Engineer - Cape Town City Centre
Our client based in Cape Town (CBD) is currently seeking a Lead Engineer to join their innovative team. The Lead Engineer will be responsible for leading technical initiatives, driving engineering excellence and mentoring team members to deliver high-quality solutions. The role requires a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills and a passion for driving innovation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilites:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical guidance, coaching and feedback to foster professional growth and development
- Collaborate with Principal Engineers and Managers to define project goals, requirements and technical solutions
- Drive the development and implementation of new processes and systems, ensuring scalability, reliability and performance
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise
- Champion engineering excellence and continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to optimise processes, tools and workflows
- Act as a technical escalation point, providing guidance and support to resolve complex technical issues and internal challenges
Role Requirements:
- Minimum required certifications: CCNP/MTCRE/JNCIA
- Minimum required experience: 4-7 years of working experience with a WISP/FISP or in a NOC
- Previous experience in a leadership capacity
- Excellent leadership and communications skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving results and achieving project objectives
- Passion for continuous learning and professional development, with a commitment to staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies
