Purpose Statement To drive testing excellence within the product line by managing and overseeing the end-to-end testing process, and optimising testing processes through central and digital test automation practices. To ensure the continuity of the testing capability by crafting testing career paths and development paths for testers. Qualifications (Minimum) Software Testing - Foundation Level through the International Software Testing Qualification Board (ISTQB) A relevant tertiary qualification Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred) Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology - Computer Science or Information Management Experience MINIMUM: At least 5 years' work experience in QA testing (identifying test conditions, and creating test plans and test cases / scripts from project documentation) At least 5 years' work experience in Automation Testing At least 2-5 years' work experience in Leading / Coordinating a Team and/or the work of Testing roles throughout the various testing phases and activities IDEAL: Test Automation Engineering focused in Mobile / App specifically Acceptance testing Bank IT system exposure Non-functional testing experience Project management experience Release management exposure Knowledge MINIMUM: A detailed understanding of: The full IT project lifecycle (SDLC) and how the STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle) fits into it Formal testing practices Software and hardware testing Application of test tools Agile methodology Release management Test Automation Systems architecture IDEAL: Basic understanding of: Financial/Banking IT systems Databases and scripting Non-functional testing (performance, stress, reliability, etc.) Skills Analytical Skills Change Management Skills Communications Skills Management skills Problem solving skills Conditions of Employment Clear criminal and credit record Capitec is committed to diversity, applications to this position will strictly be considered in support of our employment equity goals.
