INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT FACULTY OF ENGINEERING, BUILT ENVIRONMENT AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Applications are hereby invited for the following positions LECTURER (Permanent) Peromnes P8 Reference No: WSU-BCC 04/2024/06 Teach and assess students at Diploma and Advanced Diploma levels for the subject/modules in the discipline of Structural Engineering and Geotechnical Engineering within the department of Civil Engineering; Participate and engage in the departments' research programmes, seminars and paper publications. Develop and improve on the curriculum content of the teaching materials and also the student module guide (SMG) for the subject/modules in the discipline of Structural Engineering and Geotechnical Engineering in line with industry trends and HEQSF requirement. Liaise with industry including consultation work / collaborative research and other community service projects / engagement. Participate in the continuous development and improvement of tools for effective assessment of Graduate Attributes as stipulated in the ECSA Qualification Standards of the Programmes running in the department. Perform and carry out delegated administrative duties of the department. Skills/Competencies required: Team player Possess good critical and interpretive skills Possess good communication and interpersonal skills Computer literate and Applied knowledge of Civil Engineering design applications with field of expertise Professional judgement demonstrated in workplace application A Master's degree in Civil Engineering, majoring in Structural Engineering and Geotechnical Engineering. Professional registration with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) . Minimum of t wo ( 2 ) years of relevant teaching/lecturing or industry experience . Knowledge and experience of implementing quality assurance requirements.
