CORE PURPOSE OF JOB |
The Department of Computing Sciences (CS) is looking to fill a position of Lecturer within the department with an enthusiastic, forward-thinking person who will contribute to the vision and mission of the Department. The field of Computing Sciences includes Computer Science and Information Systems. There are three key areas of performance that academic staff members in the department need to meet, namely: 1) learning and teaching; 2) engagement and 3) research generally focused within the Departments research areas (descriptive topics available upon request).
The appointee will be expected to especially play a key role in administering and teaching of the different Computing Fundamental (Computer Literacy) modules in the department. |
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS |
Learning and Teaching
Represent the Department at relevant Faculty and University learning and teaching forums Research Provide research supervision to Postgraduate students; Manage research projects for the Department; Regularly generate research outputs for publication in the Departments research areas; Generate and manage third stream income (for example, in the form of research grant applications and awards) for use in independent and Departmental research projects; and Represent the Department at relevant Faculty and University research forums. Engagement Lead in the initiation of Departmental engagement activities, which could include engagement with schools, industry and other external stakeholders; and Represent the Department at relevant Faculty and University engagement forums. |
