FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES SCHOOL OF HEALTH CARE SCIENCES DEPARTMENT OF OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY LECTURER (PHYSICAL CONDITIONS) The incumbent will be responsible for: Teaching undergraduate physical conditions (including, but not limited to biomechanics,hand therapy, and splinting) and postgraduate students (PG Dip Hand Therapy andMOccTher (Hand Therapy); Clinical supervision of undergraduate students in the physical field of practice; Administration and coordination of clinical placements; Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students’ research projects; Participating in skills training (undergraduate and postgraduate); Module coordination including updating course content and revising study guides; Maintaining the electronic learning environment; Performing other academic and research duties as may be delegated by the Head ofDepartment; Conducting research at a national and international competitive level; Participate in the Department, School of Healthcare Sciences, and Faculty strategicinitiatives relating to teaching, learning, research, and community engagement. Closing date: 08 APRIL 2024 No application will be considered after the closing date, or if it does not comply with at least the minimum requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (topic in physical conditions); Current registration with Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA); A DHET accredited publication must preferably be published in the last three years. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES): Good verbal and written communication skills; Good interpersonal and mentoring skills; Good computer skills; Able to work in a team; Scientific writing skills. ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES: A valid driver’s licence; PG Hand therapy diploma; Coursework master’s in occupational therapy (Hand therapy); PhD Occupational Therapy; At least one year of teaching experience at a Higher Education Institution; The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, asdetermined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED and UMVUZO medical aidschemes and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
