Our client in the Civil Aviation industry is currently looking for a Legal Advisor , in Midrand, Johannesburg. Responsibilities: Regulation Development and Legal Support: Assist with regulation development and provide legal support services. Review and vet proposals for the amendment of regulations and technical standards. Draft regulations and technical standards. Facilitate and monitor the approval process of regulations within specified deadlines. Review final drafts of regulations and amendments to ensure legality and conformity with constitutional principles. Draft memorandums for the approval of regulations and technical standards. Perform secretarial functions for the Civil Aviation Regulations Committee (CARCom). Assist technical divisions in developing legally sound regulations and technical standards. Manage the formulation and approval of regulations through a consultative process with the aviation industry. Manage secretarial support services for CARCom and associated subcommittees. Drafting of Legal Opinions: Research and draft accurate legal opinions. Draft and review legal and non-legal documentation. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for executive management. Litigation Process: Manage departmental and company appeals with the Department of Transport and Director. Research the legality of litigation matters and mitigate legal risks. Facilitate the appointment of legal firms through proper procurement processes. Coordinate and monitor attorneys in litigation matters. Facilitate consultations between employees and attorneys. Ensure the proper finalization of legal matters in the company's best interest. Keep consistent updates on litigation progress and approve attorney invoices. General: Perform additional functions for the Legal and Aviation Compliance Division as delegated. Participate in Enforcement and Exemption activities as required. Compile reports. Requirements: B Proc or LLB Degree and admission as an Attorney or Advocate with pupillage. Legislative Drafting Certificate. Minimum 3 years of experience as an Attorney or Advocate with basic legislative drafting exposure. Remuneration: R800 000 – R1 333 000 per annum. Apply Now
