Lodge Manager: 5 Star Game Reserve BROAD OUTLINE OF DUTIES The successful applicant/s will assume full responsibility for the day-to-day management of a luxury safari lodge. To provide leadership to staff, maintain lodge facilities, manage the requisite administration processes, control operations costs, and exercise budget control. To present and provide a level of hospitality which personifies Company standards and market standing. COMPETENCIES REQUIRED Conceptualisation: The position requires the successful candidate to reason in spatial as well as abstract terms, to envisage the whole or end-result, to anticipate the outcome. Perception: The position requires the successful candidate to have the capacity to perceive correctly and in visual detail. General knowledge: The position requires the successful candidate to interact with a local as well as international clientele and hence needs to have a good general knowledge. Socialisation: The position requires the successful candidate to have the capacity to mix freely and easily with people from all walks of life and have a presence to accommodate and invite this engagement. Adaptability: The position requires the successful candidate to be flexible, accept change, opposing views, new ideas, to be imaginative and creative. Self-motivation: The position requires the successful candidate to be self-motivated, have the capacity to take decisions, to lead, to perform and to achieve. Listening skills: The position requires the successful candidate to be a good listener and understand what has been heard clearly and objectively. Self-Actualisation: The position requires the successful candidate to have the capacity to assert him/herself. Organising: The successful candidate will have the capacity to arrange the availability and allocation of required resources, utilise control systems, delegate and coordinate the tasks and duties of individuals and groups in a way that ascertains the smooth flow of work throughout the workplace. Equivalent to Grade 12 Pass Must have a minimum of five years’ relevant experience in the hospitality industry or have a diploma from a recognized Hotel School. F&B experience, menu planning and presentation, costing, and wine knowledge. Maintenance management / overseer experience. Required experience & skills can be shared among applicants.
