Reference: PTA001087-CD-1An international manufacturer and distributor of building/float glass products is seeking a Transport and Logistic Manager with proven experience in the transportation and distribution of building/float glass products to streamline, coordinate and optimise the distribution of products from their warehouse in Boksburg to customers on a national basis according to industry standards and safety regulations. Minimum requirements for the role: A relevant tertiary qualification will be highly advantageous Minimum 7 years’ experience in logistics/ warehousing/ transport and/or distribution will be required MUST have experience in the distribution of building/float glass products Knowledge of industry standards and regulations is important Good communication skills, specifically in English, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels, will be required Must have a valid drivers’ license The successful candidate will be responsible for: Ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction in the transport and distribution of building glass and related products on a national basis. Analysing sales data, forecasting demand, and managing inventory levels efficiently to meet customer needs while minimizing excess stock. Overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods within the warehouse. Implementing efficient storage methods, and organising inventory to optimize space utilization. Conducting regular inventory audits to maintain accuracy and prevent stock discrepancies. Coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, supervising warehouse staff, and implementing safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Developing efficient transportation routes for delivering products to customers while minimizing costs and maximizing delivery speed. Overseeing the management of the company's fleet of vehicles used for transporting products. Ensuring compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards set by regulatory authorities such as the Department of Transportation (DOT), especially for the transportation of building glass products. Developing and managing budgets for transportation and distribution operations, aiming to optimize costs while maintaining service quality, by monitoring expenses related to fuel, maintenance, labour, and other operational costs. Working closely with customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers. Addressing any issues or concerns related to transportation or distribution promptly to maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty. Identifying areas for improvement in transportation and distribution processes and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall performance.
