Lubricants Planning Manager - South Africa

Candidate Profile The candidate should possess the following: Suitable 3-year tertiary education Post graduate degree/Industrial Engineering will be an added advantage. Extensive experience in costs analysis in petrochemical, production or industrial environment Minimum of 6 years' experience in Logistics Management (which includes materials management, materials requirements planning, materials forecasting, warehousing, managing materials budgets and transportation) of which at least 3 years' experience in a managerial position in a large organization with a complex operations environment Extensive experience in stock management gained in a petrochemical, production or industrial environment. Activities The candidate will be responsible for the following: HSEQ: To ensure constant adherence and compliance to company HSEQ and security standards, local by-laws, standards and legislation Promote safe working practices and be an advocate for a safe working environment. People Management: Lead, motivate and manage the control tower team Direct work schedules to provide business continuity during absence periods Manage third party staff to improve primary transport utilization Governance: To ensure effective risk management and internal control, including asset management Follow up and close findings emanating from various audits Ensure compliance with group purchasing policies Supply Chain Optimisation: Management of world class supply concepts to facilitate improved Inbound Logistics Manage the logistics, procurement and storage flows for finished products throughout the supply chain Maximise efficient inventory management for finished materials Control stock count process at all stock holding locations, including: planning, count entry, reconciliation Represent Supply Chain at Lubricants range review sessions Work with Corporate Purchasing to review vendor performance and identify improvement opportunities Work with Corporate Purchasing team for tendering activities SAP Key user for production planning, master data and product purchasing. Initiate best practices for SAP flows Manage UK article range in SAP to ensure data integrity for costing and cession pricing. This includes product introduction and removal from the range Dead stock: Identify, report, providing rework and disposal solutions Work with local and group colleagues to optimise sales forecasting requirements Work with Business Support in preparing Lubricants Supply Chain annual budgets and Long-Term Plan Continuous Improvement: Nurture a culture of continual improvement in the team Review Actual vs. planned supply chain performance, understand reasons for deviations and implement improvements as required Actively investigate network optimization alternatives and work with LMP and Commercial to justify & implement changes Follow models of competitor supply chains based on current operation and future investment plans, present findings regularly Context & Environment The role requires strong communication links and mutual support within the supply chain department, lubricants commercial teams, warehouse managers, transport and all relevant stakeholders as and when required.
