Job Title: Dean of Faculties Location: Braamfontein, Gauteng, South Africa Reference: DLyceum Contract Type: Permanent Specification Aligned to Lyceum vision and strategy, the Dean provides academic leadership and accountability for Lyceum Faculty and Programme Management; Work Integrated Learning Monitoring and Coordination; Integrated Quality Assurance; Academic Governance and Policies; Library Resourcing and Academic Support to Students MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Aligned to Lyceum vision and strategy, the Dean provides academic leadership and accountability for Lyceum Faculty and Programme Management; Work Integrated Learning Monitoring and Coordination; Integrated Quality Assurance; Academic Governance and Policies; Library Resourcing and Academic Support to Students. REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB: 1.Master’s degree required however PhD or Doctorate in a cognate subject field of a Lyceum Faculty will be preferred 2.At least five years at Senior Academic level in higher education 3.At least three years high-level Academic Management experience 4.A proven teaching and research portfolio with curriculum development and assessment design experience. 5.Experience in dealing with regulatory affairs and academic quality assurance processes within a higher education environment. COMPETENCIES OF THE JOB: 1.Effective leadership and management skills. 2.High level communication skills. 3.Excellent organisational skills. 4.Analytical and quantitative skills appropriate to academic management 5.Skills in curricular design and review. 6.The ability to plan, manage and implement change effectively. 7.Ability to lead and to manage projects to agreed deadlines. 8.An understanding of the principles and practice of policy and operational development, implementation and evaluation. 9.The ability to effectively promote the work of the Faculty and schools within the brands 10.Self-motivation and capacity for innovation.
