Machine Shop Maintenance Fitter & Turner Area: Alrode (Alberton) Maintenance Fitter & Turner A position for a Machine Shop Fitter and Turner has become available. The successful candidate must have extensive machine tool fitting and turning experience. The candidate will need to know how to strip and assemble different types of machines and be able to repair breakdowns. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required Trade Tested Fitter and Turner with 10 years’ experience. Ability to read and understand technical drawings. Ability to measure with verniers, micrometers, thread gauges etc. Ability to use a Centre Lathe and Milling Machine as well as a slotter. Ability to draft a materials list and simple sketches and or drawings. Ability to do routine maintenance and attend to mechanical break downs when required. Ability to machine internal and external multi-start threads. Understand the safe working procedure of the machines. Must be able to adhere to general housekeeping rules. Own transport Must be able to work shifts Minimum Education & Experience required Matric along with 10 years post apprenticeship experience within a Machine Shop.
