Swellendam Area – Western Cape: This successful farming operation seeks to add a maintenance manager to their team. The Maintenance Manager is expected to lead the Maintenance function in providing both a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facility’s infrastructure. Plan and oversee all aspects of the day to day running of an allocated workshop and team. Only candidates with the relevant experience will be considered. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Grade 12/ Matric Minimum of 5 to 10 year’s proven experience in the maintenance and mechanical industry COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED Excellent planning and organizational skills Strong leadership skills and ability to work confidently in a group Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong problem solving skills Excellent time management skills Computer literate Driver’s license Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS Plan, prioritize, schedule and oversee maintenance duties according to best practices Regular communication with General Managers regarding requirements, planning and progress Increase the operational effectiveness, equipment availability and life cycle cost of machinery and equipment through preventative maintenance Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to Implementation of Standard Operating Procedures and checklists for operators Manage the team on technical best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading the department Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Maintenance activities Ensure that machinery and/ or equipment are fit for purpose and to provide proactive support/ solutions when required Attend meetings and action/ communicate instructions Produce written reports to the General Manager in terms of maintenance actions and costs Troubleshooting and problem solving Provide technical expertise to the team Manage, coach and develop a high performing maintenance team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements Perform minor maintenance work, including maintenance and repair of machinery, other mechanical equipment, gates, etc. Procurement of equipment and machinery according to company protocols ONLY short-listed candidates will be contacted.
