Job Description RCL Foods is currently looking for a Maintenance Planner to join our Baking Business Unit. The role will be based in Pretoria West. Purpose of the Role: To assist the baking engineering department to continuously improve their overall equipment effectiveness, by implementing and administering effective asset management systems and procedures, particularly in the areas of information management, work planning & control, performance measurement, maintenance tactics and spares & materials through the effective delegation and management of available resources. To purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, lead-times, and health & safety protocols. Duties & Responsibilities Engineering planning Administration and planning of maintenance activities CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) implementation, optimization, management, and system administration Ensuring continuous asset management improvement through organizing of training for engineering personnel Analysis/Interpretation of maintenance history and feedback report preparation Drawing, documentation, and modification control Ensure that the team is adequately staffed based on careful consideration of utilization and work backlog information. Management of performance measures for the personnel under the position’s control Assisting in the continuous improvement, optimization (schedules reviews) and implementation of preventive maintenance tactics (usage-based, timebased, etc) via processes including OMM and root cause failure analysis. Management of the engineering planning office and the equipment, documents, and tools within it Oversee filing and safeguarding of records within area of responsibility Compile of ad hoc spreadsheets when required General Performance assessment of team members Training & development of employees under his/her supervision Meetings (daily & monthly) with the plant’s key personnel (engineering) to plan work, transfer information, make decisions and agree on action plans. To ensure effective administrative systems and procedures are being maintained and improved. Assisting the further implementation, optimization, and management of the Asset Management Improvements Ensuring that all personnel under the control of this position abide by the health & safety regulation. Supplier Management Sourcing of suppliers, negotiate pricing and delivery dates Ensure all orders (stock and non-stock) are placed on time at the best price with the best supplier or as per contract To communicate all late/unrealistic delivery dates to end users Teamwork Implements organised and effective work-methods Report and or escalate any areas of non- compliance appropriately Information and Data Management Capture data accurately and regularly captures onto the information system to enable access to reliable data and reporting for trend analysis and decision making Share relevant data with supervisor to enable reliable business decision making Effective Teamwork and Self-Management Take ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and demonstrates effective self-management in terms of planning and prioritising, and self-development. Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of work are consistently and accurately maintained Inform relevant parties in the event of tasks or deadlines not met, the potential risks thereof and provide appropriate resolution Demonstrate willingness to help others and “go the extra mile” to meet team targets and objectives Minimum Requirements Education and Qualification Grade 12 Qualified Millwright Knowledge and Skills Personal Qualities Good communication skills towards all levels within the company Be a methodical and systematic worker, comfortable in an office environment with a fair amount of paperwork. Must have a pro-active problem-solving approach in the anticipation of problem areas and taking corrective actions to eliminate deviations. Be goal orientated, stable, show integrity and be able to make decisions under pressure Effective leadership skills and experience in handling IR related problems. Company procedures/systems Adhering to all safe working procedures available in the safety manuals Knowledge of the Pragma maintenance system Knowledge of Syspro financial system Adhering to purchasing procedures as specified within the Engineering Services and Procurement departments Knowledge and experience in the Engineering-, and Stores- Business Processes. Experience and Training A minimum of 10 years strong engineering/maintenance/manufacturing experience in a bread bakery. 2 years supervisory experience. Engineering spares purchasing experience Experience in the implementation and operation of a CMMS and be up to date with the latest developments and trends in asset management. Computer literacy –MS Excel, On key Pragma Knowledge of preventive maintenance principles and systems Be familiar with the concepts of project planning and scheduling, including the use of project management software Basic knowledge of financial systems Competencies Competent in MS Office and applicable mainframe system Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in a pressurized environment Well-developed interpersonal skills Ability to negotiate and persuade end users as well as suppliers Practice and display good negotiating skills Ability to prioritize work Good organization and planning skills Be able to work without close supervision High levels of accuracy Highly developed sense of order Be able to take initiative Accurate Teamwork skills Must be multi-skilled Apply Now
