RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages direct reports who supervise employees in maintenance
Ensures safe operations through adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and procedures.
Responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality
Initiates, implements, and manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the dairy industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.
Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.
Maintains and repairs maintenance workshop equipment.
Maintains computerized maintenance management system when available for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
Coordinates activities with Plant Operations Manager
Prioritizes, schedules repairs and installations to equipment and facilities, minimizing interference with production.
Administers the maintenance work order system, including prioritizing and assigning work orders, and monitoring their timely completion.
Development and adherence to maintenance budget.
Adhere to all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
Adhere to all Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Qualified Red Seal Millwright or Mechanical Fitter and Turner
Five or more years' experience in the maintenance, mechanical maintenance, and/or repair work and/or operation of a process manufacturing facility
Prior experience in dairy / food processing industries will be preferred
