Our client, a leader in the global oil and gas industry, is looking for a Manager of Mega Programs (in South Africa) to be part of a team directly responsible and accountable for the delivery of best-in-class capital projects Please note that the interviews will take place in person in South Africa only. In addition, only candidates with a BSc or BEng will be considered. Experience in the GCC or Saudi Arabia is highly preferred Must have worked for a leading project house on oil and gas projects (not petrochem) Design, construction and project management experience (not technical operations, maintenance etc) Key Responsibility: Leverage expertise in Petrochemical projects and provide the appropriate actions for the team to follow in all phases of the project. Provide the technical and project management oversight to the design, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup of facilities, and close out of projects. Implement company initiatives in projects and business processes under the division. Assign appropriate manpower to all parts and phases of the project. Negotiate agreements and change orders with design and execution contractors. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is preferred. Twenty years’ experience in a project management field industries with a specialty Seven (7) years of experience as a manager or director of projects in design, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and operation with values ranging from $500MM to $billion. You must have Engineering Design & Construction phase experience with a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles in the applicable International Codes, Standards and Specifications. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written English.
