Purpose Statement To manage the Operational Risk in the Retail Bank as well as Shared Services (in conjunction with Business Bank). To initiate, propose and implement strategies to continuously improve the efficiency of the Operational Risk management process as part of the bank's journey to mature a comprehensive Enterprise Risk Management function. Experience Minimum: At least 4 years' relevant experience in a risk function, preferably in a financial institution In an Agile, data and digital focused environment Experience using the risk methodologies and control frameworks e.g. COBIT, ISF, ISO Experience in performing risk and control assessments Creating risk management reports (data management) Executing analytics to determine risks as well as data flows for capital, loss and risk. Qualifications (Minimum) A relevant degree in Business Management or Commerce Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred) Honours Degree in Risk and Compliance or Commerce Knowledge Minimum: Risk and control knowledge Advanced Understanding of key business processes and functions and an understanding of key risks in these areas Experience using the risk methodologies and control frameworks e.g. COBIT, ISF, ISO Experience in performing risk and control assessments Creating risk management reports (data management) Ideal: Advanced understanding of risk management in the banking industry Operational Risk Management experience in a financial institution in a management capacity Experience in South African Banking regulations and Banking standards Principles for the Sound Management of Operational Risk ISO 31000, COSO Basel II & Basel III Systems Development and implementation experience Skills Planning, organising and coordination skills Communications Skills Attention to Detail Problem solving skills Decision making skills Strategic Thinking Skills Interpersonal & Relationship management Skills Presentation Skills Computer Literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook) Conditions of Employment Clear criminal and credit record Capitec is committed to diversity, applications to this position will strictly be considered in support of our employment equity goals.
