Description Job Description: Technically strong leader to manage the energy division comprising renewable energy businesses, responsible for directing and controlling the underlying business operations. Senior management level experience in operations management and/or project management within renewable energy and petroleum industies. As the MD for the Energy division, you will be responsible for setting the strategy, vision and objectives and drive growth in the underlying subsidiaries. Key Responsibilities: Group business strategy and planning Business operations oversight Project leadership People development and management Optimse profitability and operation efficiencies Governance, risk and compliance Renewable Energy New Projects Development: Drive development of projects in the pipeline & find new development opportunities Manage commercial negotiations for the signing of agreements such as: land lease agreements, servitudes, environmental impact assessments, regulatory approvals, electrical connection applications and agreements. Manage internal costs and external consultant costs in accordance with development budgets. Manage all external project stakeholders. Negotiate and secure offtake for the projects. Bring project to Financial Close as efficiently and rapidly as possible. Contract management of main project contracts and ensure compliance with permits. Manage implementation of project to bring to commercial operations within approved budget and timeline. Trading company establishment & management: Secure electricity trading license from NERSA Establish and capacitate trading company Secure customer PPAs and build portfolio of customers Asset Management, including Operations & Maintenance: Manage main project contracts including PPA, EIAs, and ensure compliance with permits. Represent the company’s interest to assure maximum profitability and return on investment. Petroleum – Energy: Oversight on Company Retail, Logistics and Commercial operations. Strategic oversight and operations support to Company Properties and ensure growth in network and sweat existing assets. Guide the business ensuring it achieves volume growth and financial performance targets. Build and maintain relationship with client and relevant petroleum industry bodies. Requirements & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related, MBA or technical Masters added advantage. 10 – 15 years executive management experience in relevant industry. A proven track record of successfully managing a company. A high level of business acumen. Ability to lead diverse management teams and external consultants. Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing new business growth strategies (entrepreneur). Excellent Leadership, communication and organisational skills. Excellent stakeholder management skills
