A leading supplier of materials and solutions into the basic services sector in southern Africa, PPC has 11 cement factories in South Africa, Botswana, DRC, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Zimbabwe. PPC’s capacity is around eleven and a half million tonnes of cement products each year. PPC’s Materials business comprises of Pronto Readymix (including Ulula Ash) and 3Q Mahuma Concrete. Development and implementation of the Brand and Marketing strategies in line with the business objectives. Ensure brand consistency across all communication channels and marketing materials. Developing the marketing strategies for new and existing products. Overseeing implementation of the Marketing strategies - including campaigns, events, digital marketing, and PR. Working closely with the company’s Sales team; enabling them to meet their commercial objectives by providing them with appropriate tools, materials, and presentations. Guiding the day-to-day activities of the marketing team. Ensuring that the marketing objectives are implemented by the marketing team. Work closely with product development team to report on customer satisfaction levels, new customer needs, value propositions required, marketing materials and programs required as well as to ensure profitability of all brands. Manage social media presence and direct programs to improve social media reputation and recognition. Developing and delivering marketing and communications strategies for all PPC markets – utilize optimal marketing mix and measure results. Conduct market research to understand consumer trends, competitor activities, and industry developments. Use data and insights to make informed decisions and adjust strategies as needed. Managing all marketing for the company and activities within the marketing department and measure effectiveness. Manage marketing campaigns with sales activities to increase market share. Ensure that the sales team is supported with appropriate resources. Managing and overseeing the company’s marketing budgets according to control (ledger and contracts / SLAs) and policy procedures (procurement policies & delegation of authority) with brand managers and finance. Creation and publication of all marketing material in line with marketing plans. Manage and improve lead generation campaigns, measuring results. Overall accountable for brand management and corporate identity. Review and assess all partners (particularly outsourced vendors & strategic partnerships) and key stakeholders to ensure that they are sufficiently positioned to support growth. Manage effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of marketing objectives (align internal brand to external brand). Analysing potential strategic partner relationships for company marketing. Develop and grow all marketing employees through a culture of innovation and continuous learning. Relevant Bachelor’s degree (Marketing). A post-graduate qualification at masters level will be an advantage. 10-15 years relevant work related experience in marketing roles with exposure to brand and multi-channel (incl. digital) marketing and corporate communications (both internal & external). At least 5 years in the FMCG Industry. Proven senior management experience is essential as the incumbent will be responsible for working in and managing a series of teams. Previous exposure to working with products that are deemed “commodity” would be advantageous. Demonstrable evidence of required embedded Knowledge and Competencies. Apply Now
