Marketing Manager: East and Southern Africa - Agribusiness or FMCG - Johannesburg

Provide marketing leadership for selected African countries by development and execution of sound actionable strategies that deliver growth and profitability.

Requirements:
Technical or Business/ Marketing Degree or similar.
Extensive experience in a strategic marketing tole - in agribusiness, food manufacturing, consumer goods or related industries.
Strong strategic marketing toolbox.
Have successfully led task-driven teams and facilitated strategy sessions with all levels of professionals internally and externally.
Have proven abilities within working in a complex geographic region with the ability to collaborate well with a wide variety of individuals, building diverse networks and working quickly to find common ground.
Possess solid analytical skills and solution-driven thinking; to utilize a combination of business intelligence data, intuition, and experience in the development of impactful business growth initiatives.
Development and execution of marketing strategy - including commercialization roadmap to deliver growth, profitability, and timely product introduction.
Fluency in English is essential.
Fluency in French is advantageous.

Responsibilities include:
Identify and characterize market trends and segments for growth opportunities.
Determine marketing intelligence needs to successfully accomplish in-depth market mapping, and closely monitor key market segments to drive business growth.
Collaborate with Portfolio Managers/ Commercial teams to ensure the strategy is adapted to market needs and establish aligned pricing and distribution strategies.
Manage product portfolio, lead product positioning and pricing activities to create and capture value through differentiated product and Service offerings.
Determine the influence of external factors on short- and long-term product demand and develop actionable marketing strategies that increase value and market share.
Monitor customer needs in target segments, resulting in the development of a clear "Voice of Customer" perspective for the business.
Direct promotional campaigns and specific new product launches for the region, including participation in events and other promotional opportunities.
Manage and execute overall brand strategy.
Conduct and execute robust segmentation and define opportunities to play and win in the most attractive market segments and key product areas.
Develop channel strategies that utilize the most effective and value driven channels.
