Apply sound engineering principles in the development and documentation of precision parts to be used in manufacturing and engineering, including 3D design of complex tooling.
Minimum requirements:
N Dip; B Eng Degree or B Tech Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Matric
Mechanical design engineering experience Very Good 3D CAD experience
Willing to travel overseas for variable periods
Must possess good analytical and deductive reasoning abilities and memory skills.
Must be highly organized, thorough, and possess and practice good communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
Design/ re-engineer existing products to enhance their performance, improve reliability and cost effectiveness.
Thoroughly and effectively trouble-shoot problems and implement solutions of a mechanical nature.
Select components, materials, finishes and shop processes necessary to meet the design requirements.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary development team to develop world-class quality output.
Qualification of the suppliers related to the mechanical function
Interpretation of requirements and address design parameters and engineering problems to ensure solutions are implemented accurately
Evaluate information to determine compliance with standards
Knowledge of metals and materials used in production - Software and Software Skills - Autocad - 2D drawing and design - 3D drawing and design
Work knowledge of Solid Works, Pro/Engineering or other similar computer aided drafting tools.
Experience in mechanical vibration. - Planning: - Identify the requirements to complete the job. - Assess and Analyse project time - Prepare required material, parts and tools. - Design Engineer - Product data management
Create 3D parts and 2D part drawings to meet supplier and regulatory requirements
Liaise with overseas suppliers and customer on designs
Conduct concept and design reviews
Support the day-to-day activities of customers
Provide creative and technically feasible solutions for cost savings, service issues, and product improvements
