Mechanical Design Engineer - Pretoria
Minimum requirement
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3-5 years' experience in Mechanical designing of equipment or machinery.
- Automation industry experience would highly advantages.
- Experience working on Solidworks or AutoCad.
- Take measurements on-site.
- Ensure that you understand the needs of the customer, and the functionality of the system to be designed.
- Create 3D concepts, sometimes with simulations to be used to show the customer what the system will look like, and how it will work.
- Create 3D designs of the actual machines and equipment.
- Present and review the designs Internally and with the customer.
- Create detailed manufacturing drawings for manufacturing purposes.
- Research and source components, methods, and techniques to be used in the designs.
- Create proper BOM and BOQ for each design.
- Keep a design file for each project with all information supplied by the customer, research data, and calculations where required.
- Supply the buyer with enough information to allow him to procure the correct parts and
- material.
- Do proper configuration management for each project.
- Assist with assembly and knowledge transfer to the workshop to ensure they understand the
- form and function of the design.
